WATCH: Barbour's Snowman and Snowdog Christmas campaign

Barbour has unveiled its Christmas 2017 campaign, which features an exclusive film created in partnership with Snowman Enterprises, in conjunction with Penguin Ventures.

The film features Billy, the small boy from the much-loved children’s animation The Snowman and The Snowdog, the sequel to Raymond Briggs’ classic book The Snowman, and shows him as an adult.

In the 60-second film, created by Lupus Films, Billy is shown with his wife and daughter and an elderly dog (the puppy from the film). After tucking his daughter in bed on Christmas Eve, Billy goes to bed and dreams about his adventures with the Snowman.

When the family awake on Christmas morning and begin to open their presents, there is a knock on the door and the snowman arrives. Billy hugs him and gives him a gift he has been keeping under the tree which is one of Barbour's iconic waxed jackets.

“It has been exciting to work with Snowman Enterprises Ltd to create this beautiful Barbour interpretation of the next chapter for Billy, something that has never been done before. Barbour is a brand that evokes fond memories of shared experiences, times and places and we wanted to express this emotion within the film," said Barbour's global marketing director Paul Wilkinson.

"By combining original footage from The Snowman and The Snowdog animation alongside 45 seconds of new footage and introducing family characters, we’ve created a magical film that recreates the nostalgia of childhood, the joy of giving at Christmas and that special feeling of spending time with friends or relatives you may not have seen for a long time," he added.

The campaign is running across Barbour's social channels, with the hashtag #barbourchristmas, and will also feature in POS in-store, in windows and on carrier bags. In addition customers will receive a free limited edition The Snowman and The Snowdog pin (as seen in the film) with every purchase.
