Vivienne Westwood closes stores and headquarters for Global Climate Strike

18 September 2019

Vivienne Westwood will close its London headquarters and stores across the UK – as well as offices and flagship stores in Paris, Milan, New York and Los Angeles –from Friday 20 September to enable all employees to act and attend their local Global Climate Strike marches.

The Global Climate Strike is due to take place from 20–27 September 2019 as young people all over the world take to the streets to demand an end to the age of fossil fuels and send an urgent cry for climate justice, just three days before the UN Emergency Climate Summit in New York on 23 September 2019.

This topic is of vital importance to the Vivienne Westwood, the company told us: "Giving our staff the opportunity of making a difference at this critical time reflects the fact that we recognise that ‘business as usual’ is no longer an option."

Business is expected to continue as usual online, as Vivienne Westwood is not currently reporting any disruption to online orders.
