Vintage retailer Beyond Retro has relocated from its iconic basement store on Great Marlborough street, as it moves to one of the busiest shopping streets in Soho.

Located at 19-21 Argyll Street, the new store is set to open on 5 November with its usual offering of one-off pieces, with key wardrobe staples from every era from the 40s to the 00s. Customers can expect a curated collection from local and global brands including Levi’s, adidas, Carhartt and Dr Martens.

The brand, which was launched in 2002, will house over 10,000 unique second-hand and vintage pieces at any one time, with styles and prices to suit every taste and budget.

With demand for vintage and sustainable brands to shop for, the move signals more positive changes on the high street to come. Following on from its recent success in its pop ups at Westfield Stratford City and Selfridges Oxford Street, the new spot marks a strong step forward after a year of rapidly developing retail trends.

“We’re so excited to continue the Beyond Retro journey in our new space near Oxford Circus. To be in the midst of the most popular shopping destination in the UK and continue to champion unique and sustainable lifestyles gives us so much hope for the future of retail,” said Beyond Retro’s director of retail, Kate Peters.

“We’ve loved being part of the independent scene in Soho for over ten years, converting countless customers to the wonders of vintage shopping, and can’t wait to offer more handpicked, trend-led pieces to even more people in our new space on Argyll Street. Plus being able to open for the Christmas season can encourage even more customers to have an positive impact this festive season.”

The brand has seven stores in the UK, including Brick Lane, Dalston, Brighton and Brixton as well as six stores in Sweden, also offers the Beyond Retro Exchange programme which allows shoppers to exchange vintage items for store credit.

Laura Thursfield, asset manager at The Crown Estate, said: “Beyond Retro have become a much-loved destination for unique and sustainable style. Building on the success of other stores, we’re pleased to welcome them to their new home in the West End, offering our visitors another great way to make distinctive and eco-conscious choices as they shop.”
