VIDEO Inside the Industry: London Fashion Week

The Industry London
22 March 2017

Welcome to a brand new concept from The Industry - Inside the Industry. We have recruited two leading fashion experts – supermodel and presenter Jade Parfitt and fashion broadcaster Scott Wimsett – to go behind the scenes of the fashion industry and report back to our members and followers with the inside track via a dynamic video report.

In the first in this exciting new series of programmes we send them behind the scenes at London Fashion Week where they gained exclusive backstage access to fashion icon Alice Temperley's catwalk show and the first ever catwalk show by Oxfam, which was styled by Bay Garnett and modelled by some of fashion's best known names.

Jade and Scott used their influence and contacts to get face-to-face time with stylists, models, designers, make-up artists, journalists and celebrities to create this report which shines a light on how the shows are put together and why they are so important.

Moving forward we are inviting our members and followers to contact us via the comments box below or on our Youtube channel or via Twitter, Instagram and Facebook to tell us where you would like Jade and Scott to go next and what you would like them to discover on your behalf.

The Industry managing director and editor in chief Lauretta Roberts said the idea for the series came about through meeting with Jade and Scott and hearing feedback from people inside and outside of fashion on the content they would like to see.

"We felt there wasn't anything either on mainstream television or, that we could find, on other websites that was really getting under the skin of fashion. There are plenty of make-over or shopping shows but nothing that gave true insight into how the industry worked and why it does what it does. We all grew up on The Clothes Show and we all really miss it, so we felt inspired to create a modern take," she said.

"With The Industry's platform and knowledge base and Jade and Scott's unique access and presenting skills, we felt we had an opportunity to do something people would learn from but also enjoy. Fashion is a serious business contributing £28bn to the UK economy each year but it is also glamorous and fun and we wanted to capture both sides of it," Roberts added.
