Victoria’s Secret Brand CEO steps down

05 January 2023

Lingerie giant Victoria’s Secret's Brand CEO, Amy Hauk, will step down from her role in March 2023 after less than a year in the position. Group CEO Martin Waters will temporarily assume her responsibilities.

Hauk previously served as CEO at Victoria’s Secret's sister business Pink, becoming Brand CEO across the organisation when the two company's merged in July 2022. She informed the company of her departure on 27 December.

In a filing to the Securities and Exchange Commission in the US, Victoria’s Secret commented: “Amy Hauk notified the company of her decision to resign as Brand CEO, effective 31 March. Following Ms. Hauk’s departure, Martin Waters will continue to serve as CEO of the company and will also assume the responsibilities of Brand CEO.”

The retailer is navigating a changing cultural landscape. Over the past several years it has undergone ownership, brand, marketing, leadership, and organisational shifts.

The company also began using a broader range of models and put an end to the Angels fashion show, where models showcased unrelenting standards and routines to achieve show-ready bodies.

This news follows the company's acquisition of rival Adore Me for £336 million ($400 million) last week. The business said that the acquisition would create “sales and profit” for the brand including the opportunity to leverage Adore Me’s technology and continue to improve its shopping experience.
