Victoria Beckham CEO Marie Leblanc steps down
One week after its Paris Fashion Week show, Victoria Beckham has announced the departure of its CEO Marie Leblanc, who will return to France to be with her family.
Leblanc has served as CEO since September 2019, having first joined the company as Product Director in May 2018.
Prior to this, she was Divisional Merchandising Manager for Womenswear at Printemps. Her other previous roles include Senior Product Development Manager at Celine and Collection Director for Ready-to-Wear at Sonia Rykiel, amongst others.
"Marie has been the most incredible partner and CEO these past five years and I am so grateful to have had such a strong, intelligent and inspiring woman by my side," said Victoria Beckham, Founder and Creative Director.
"We have been through an incredible journey together; fighting fires side by side, exchanging passionately about design and product, and never losing sight of our common goal – to build a beautiful brand and profitable business.
"I’m so excited about this next phase that we are in, which she has been such a crucial part of, and wish Marie the best of luck with her own next chapter."
In the interim, Ralph Toledano, the Chairman of Victoria Beckham, will act as CEO until a successor is announced.
During Leblanc's tenure in London, Victoria Beckham has transitioned from a loss-making business to a profitable one.
Earlier this year, the British company delivered its third consecutive year of double-digit growth, with strategic progress across the British icon's fashion and beauty businesses.
Revenues increased 52% to £89.1 million for the full year ending 31 December 2023, compared to £58.8 million in 2022.
It also reported an 800% rise in adjusted EBITDA to £1.8 million, while operating losses narrowed to £0.2 million.
"I am very grateful for the opportunity to lead the company as CEO during the last five years. Together, with the support of NEO and thanks to the commitment and hard work of the incredible VB team, we have crafted a full new brand value proposition and turned around the business," said Leblanc.
"This was a milestone, and I feel extremely proud of the work we have done; putting creative at the core, and bringing together Victoria’s aesthetic and Brand DNA, with high standards quality products and driving customer engagement."
