VF Corporation announces EMEA leadership team changes

Tom Shearsmith
09 January 2023

VF Corporation has today confirmed several new appointments to its leadership team in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.

Martino Scabbia Guerrini has been given an expanded role as Executive Vice President, President EMEA, APAC & Emerging Brands, adding the APAC region to his responsibilities to create even greater opportunities for the VF International businesses across both the EMEA and APAC regions.

This new role will "enable stronger cohesion and alignment" across the regional leadership teams and key account management. The role will also further drive how new growth opportunities are activated across EMEA and APAC, according to the group.

Effective 31 January 2023, Mariano Alonso, the current General Manager of Timberland EMEA, will take on the role of General Manager of The North Face EMEA. Nina Flood, currently President, VF Global Packs (Eastpak, JanSport, and Kipling), will succeed Mariano Alonso as General Manager of Timberland EMEA.

Alonso joined VF in April 2014 as Vice President of Sales for Timberland EMEA and was later named Vice President, General Manager of Timberland EMEA in 2019. During his tenure with the brand, he has played a "crucial role in driving business growth in EMEA through an intense focus on VF’s core strategies".

These brand leadership changes come as Jan Van Leeuwen, the current General Manager of The North Face EMEA, has been appointed as General Manager of the Americas for The North Face.

As the global leader for VF’s three packs brands, Flood has been "instrumental" in developing a portfolio approach for VF Global Packs, driving strategic priorities for the brands and regions, and returning the brands to profitable growth.

Martino Scabbia Guerrini, EVP, President EMEA, APAC & Emerging Brands, said: “I am happy to work even closer with Winnie Ma, President APAC, and with the entire APAC team to share best practices and account management opportunities to make the VF International business even stronger. And I am proud of each brand leader who has received a new leadership appointment in EMEA.

“We’re thankful to Jan for having driven The North Face brand’s amazing business momentum in the EMEA region during the past few years and we are truly pleased to offer Mariano and Nina new leadership opportunities so they can continue to bring their capabilities to develop a thriving business. We wish them all the best on their new assignments.”

Nina Flood, incoming General Manager of Timberland EMEA, commented: “I am thrilled to join the Timberland EMEA team, especially with the 50th anniversary of the iconic yellow boot on the horizon. The Timberland brand is well-known and loved by consumers across the globe. I look forward to leading the talented team as we embrace the brand’s rich heritage and move boldly into the future.”
