Vestiaire Collective co-founder exits business amid leadership shake-up

Fanny Moizant, co-founder and president of Vestiaire Collective, has confirmed her departure from the luxury resale platform following recent organisational changes at the business.

In a post shared on LinkedIn, Moizant said the decision was not one she initiated or expected, marking the end of a 16-year chapter at the company she helped launch in 2009.

"After 16 years… it’s time for me to say goodbye," she wrote. "I am leaving the company as part of the recent organisational changes. This was not a decision I initiated, nor one I expected, but I accept that it marks the end of an extraordinary chapter."

Moizant co-founded Vestiaire Collective alongside Sophie Hersan with the ambition of reshaping the fashion industry through second-hand luxury, positioning circularity as both an environmental imperative and a commercial opportunity. Under her leadership, the Paris-founded platform grew into one of the most prominent global players in resale, attracting major international investment and expanding into key markets including the US and Asia.

Her departure follows a period of senior leadership change at Vestiaire Collective. In October, the company promoted Chief Financial Officer Bernard Osta to CEO, succeeding Maximilian Bittner, who had led the business for seven years. At the time of Osta’s appointment, Vestiaire’s board described the move as the opening of  "a new chapter".

In her statement, Moizant described Vestiaire as "a company with a soul, a purpose, and a powerful mission", adding, "It was never just a job. It was a calling, a cause, a fierce belief that circularity matters - for the planet, for future generations, for the industry itself."

"Vestiaire still needs you: every treasure you give new life to is a quiet rebellion for a better fashion future," she added.

Her departure comes at a time when resale platforms are under increasing pressure to balance mission-led values with profitability and operational efficiency. Vestiaire Collective has undergone several strategic shifts in recent years as it has sought to scale globally while defending its position against intensifying competition in the second-hand luxury space.

While Moizant did not outline her next move, she suggested her exit would not mark a step away from impact-led work in fashion. "I don’t know exactly what comes next yet, but I move forward with energy, resilience, and fire in my belly," she said. "There’s more to build. More impact to create."
