Versace CEO Emmanuel Gintzburger exits
Emmanuel Gintzburger is leaving his role as Chief Executive of Versace, having led the Italian luxury house since September 2022.
Gintzburger joined then-owner Capri Holdings after six years as CEO of Alexander McQueen. His tenure at Versace spanned a period of ownership upheaval and repeated creative leadership changes, culminating in Prada Group's €1.25 billion acquisition, which closed in December 2025.
Before joining Versace, Gintzburger spent more than a decade in senior roles across major luxury groups.
He served as Worldwide Retail & Wholesale Director at Saint Laurent from 2011 to 2016, held a retail director position at Lanvin, and earlier spent six years at Louis Vuitton in the Asia-Pacific region.
When Capri announced his appointment in 2022, Donatella Versace called him the "perfect partner" to take the house "to even greater heights".
Gintzburger's exit follows a period of creative turnover. Donatella Versace stepped down from her design role in March 2025 after nearly three decades, moving into the position of chief brand ambassador.
"It has been the greatest honour of my life to carry on my brother Gianni's legacy," she said at the time.
Dario Vitale, formerly in charge of design and image at Miu Miu, was named Chief Creative Officer effective April 2025. However, by December 2025, Vitale had also departed in what was described as a mutual decision.
Pieter Mulier was subsequently appointed Chief Creative Officer, becoming Versace's third creative leader in less than a year.
