Vagabond proves it can do more than footwear with launch of T-shirt collection

Sweedish footwear brand Vagabond Shoemakers is branching into new territory with a new line of limited-edition boxy T-shirts, launching today on vagabond.com.

The new collection of printed T-shirts acts as an initiation to Vagabond Shoemakers Apparel. To celebrate the launch, the brand has teamed up with CGI/3D artist Micky Ho to release a limited edition version of the tee, featuring an exclusive print.

Marie Nilsson Peterzén, Creative Director and Co-founder of Vagabond, commented: "We are very much inspired by art, architecture, and culture in our designs, so bringing Micky’s artwork into the pieces is a great way of celebrating the launch and adding another layer of creativity."

The T-shirt, which blends "casual wear and sharp design", is made from 100% organic cotton. The oversize piece features dropped shoulders and a contemporary, boxy fit.

Peterzén added: "At Vagabond, we always strive to do the things that inspire and intrigue us – taking a step into the apparel segment is an exciting new era for us. Just as with our footwear, we will strive to create pieces centering around everyday style, with durable quality and refined detailing at the heart of our design process."

Founded in 1973, Vagabond is a sustainable footwear and accessories brand with a mission to be "a global fashion brand within shoes, for the fashion and quality driven consumer". In the UK, the brand is stocked at retailers including Office, Urban Outfitters, ASOS and Zalando.

The footwear label first dipped its toe into creating clothing last year. Entering the clothing market, the company released a leather jacket designed to accompany its leather footwear collections. The limited-edition jacket sold out in 24 hours, leading Vagabond to take steps to create a permanent clothing segment.
