UNIQLO, the Japanese global apparel retailer, has today announced a partnership with Flock Together, a birdwatching collective for people of colour, as the brand launches its new AIRism Spring/Summer 2021 collection.

The collaboration aims to celebrate the innovation of AIRism, which UNIQLO describes as "allowing the wearer to find their weightlessness and freedom to roam without borders".

AIRism is an incredibly lightweight, high-performing fabric designed to ensure continued comfort in any condition, with breathable layers that work to release heat and moisture. Its quick-drying functionality quickly wicks sweat away from the skin discreetly below everyday outfits. has curated a gallery featuring campaign imagery from the new collection:

Ollie Olanipekun, CEO, Flock Together, said: “One of our pillars at Flock Together is challenging preconceptions around POC in the outdoors and one of the ways we can combat that is through visibility. So when the opportunity came to us to work with Uniqlo, a global brand with incredible reach that has always been about accessible clothing for all it just made sense.

We’re very excited to share ‘Take Flight’ as our first phase of the partnership, all of us can all do with mental health support right now and with this project we hope to remind people of the simple steps we can take to protect our mental health through tough times.”

Flock Together have also created a series of short videos to encourage meditation, building a sense of community and challenging preconceptions.
