UNIQLO parent company Fast Retailing donates 500,000 masks to UK Government

In support of efforts to fight the global spread of COVID-19, UNIQLO has announced that its parent company Fast Retailing, will distribute 500,000 masks to the UK Government.

Out of the 10 million masks that the fashion group has committed to distribute worldwide to the current global health emergency, 500,000 masks are being sent to the UK to be distributed by the UK Government to the areas in most need.

At the same time, UNIQLO UK will donate 300 outfits for men and women and 4,000 masks to charity partner Centrepoint’s homeless service.

The support offered to Centrepoint to help the most vulnerable people who are greatly exposed to this health crisis at this difficult time.

The company also extends its sincere condolences to those who have lost loved ones and offers its deepest respect for the countless people who work in the medical and key fields.

Since the rapid emergence of COVID-19 in January, Fast Retailing has been working to help urgently affected countries and regions.

Through its UNIQLO businesses in China, South Korea and Southeast Asia, the company has provided support including product donations of HEATTECH, AIRism and down jackets to medical staff, in addition to financial contributions to NGOs.

The company will continue to give assistance where needed, and as the situation evolves.

UNIQLO announced it had reopened more than 100 stores in China in the at the start of March, with Mainland China being a central part of the brands’ growth development.
