Global apparel retailer UNIQLO has launched a new search engine mobile app, StyleHint, giving users the ability to find new clothing and styling tips.

Following on from the app’s successful launch in Japan and the US, it is now available to download in the UK and France.

StyleHint functions as a style search engine for its members. The app allows users to upload photos of items they love and be matched with similar UNIQLO styles that they can purchase immediately through the app.

Kenji Chikada, Director of eCommerce Europe at UNIQLO, said: "We are very excited to introduce StyleHint in the UK and France. The app has already been a big success in Japan and the US, giving users the ability to discover our LifeWear in a new and interactive way."

UNIQLO developed StyleHint with Rei Inamoto, founding partner and representative of I&CO. Inamoto has a long track record of achievements in the digital creative field, having previously overhauled the UNIQLO online store and developed the UNIQLO IQ shopping assistant service.

UNIQLO drew on Rei Inamoto’s knowledge to create a service that offers a new type of customer experience by utilising Google Cloud Vision API image analysis. StyleHint also utilises Google Cloud Vision API for image analysis service provided by Google.

The app is available for download on the app store now.
