Manchester’s Trafford Centre has become the British Fashion Council’s first patron in the North West. Celebrating the region’s commitment to fashion and supporting the UK’s design talent of the future, activations are kicking off this autumn.

The Trafford Centre joins the 69 existing patrons of the British Fashion Council (BFC), including John Lewis, Selfridges and Marks & Spencer, which all “bring their industry knowledge to empower growth and innovation”.

With the shopping destination’s collective of over 200 retail brands, the Trafford Centre is “backed by a diverse fashion offering that will help to amplify excellence for the fashion industry’s community platform”.

Simon Layton, Centre Director at Trafford Centre, said: “Trafford Centre’s patronage of the British Fashion Council is an incredibly exciting relationship for us, and we are thrilled to be joining a community that advocates for fashion industry excellence.

“We look forward to sharing more on the activations we are currently planning for later this year.”

BFC’s Commercial Director, Antonia Wigan, added: “We are delighted to welcome Trafford Centre as the British Fashion Council’s first patron in the North West. Their commitment reflects the strength, creativity and commercial opportunity that exists within the region.

“As one of the UK’s most iconic retail destinations, Trafford Centre offers a powerful platform to support and spotlight British fashion talent and businesses. This partnership plays a vital role in extending the BFC’s reach, ensuring our work resonates nationally.”
