Trade show Scoop gets off to a flying start

Trade show Scoop’s Autumn/Winter 2023 edition, which opened at the Saatchi Gallery this weekend, reports a strong start to the buying season.

During its first day, Scoop was visited by buyers from leading luxury retailers including Harrods, Aria, John Lewis, Square, Hêtre, Sass & Edge, Courtyard, Bod & Ted, and many more.

Buyers were invited to browse this season’s edition, showcasing a curated edit of over 250 contemporary collections.

Scoop Founder, Karen Radley, commented: “The galleries were bustling with buyers as soon as we opened, it has been an astronomical first day. The edit of designers has been very well-received and, as always, it has been wonderful to see so many familiar faces from leading retailers and luxury independent boutiques across the UK and Europe.”

Visitors were greeted by floral displays and welcome staff dressed in printed pyjama sets designed by the newly-launched Endless Love Affair. The lingerie brand was one of several designers that were recently added to the already-established line-up of ready-to-wear and accessory collections.

The theme is centred around the world of tarot and the exploration of fantasy. Buyers were invited to become inspired by artwork displayed throughout the gallery and many even had their tarot cards read.

Julia Aitken from Stanwells Lymington commented: “It’s great being back at Scoop, I have bought some new designers and very excited to have found a new ethical brand. The whole vibe at Scoop is completely different this season in a brilliant way. It’s been great to meet our suppliers and also see other retailers.

Michelle Quinn from Abiti Womenswear said: “I loved the walk up to Scoop, loved the flowers and the red carpet. So happy to be back, such a pleasurable surround and vibe. I found some new brands including D.A.T.E, Brodie Cashmere, Rino & Pelle, HIGH, and many more. I am excited to revisit next season.”

Nicky Medoza from Rose & Lyons added: “I ordered from my existing brands but also discovered some great new ones for my store. Totally fell in love with Eribe and found some great news shoes and slippers. It’s an inspiring show.”

Scoop runs at The Saatchi Gallery, Chelsea until 31 January.
