Topshop makes surprise early return to high street with John Lewis pop-ups

Topshop is making a surprise early return to the high street next week, launching a series of exclusive pop-ups in select John Lewis stores ahead of its full-scale rollout in February 2026.

From 3 November, Topshop will appear in John Lewis’ Oxford Street, Bristol, Leeds and Liverpool stores, giving customers the first chance to shop the brand in person since ASOS acquired it from Arcadia's administrators in 2021.

Each pop-up will feature a curated edit of around 30 pieces, refreshed weekly. Products will span statement outerwear, cult-favourite denim selects, cosy knitwear and high octane partywear - all available in-store and via the John Lewis app.

To mark the return, the first 100 customers in each store will receive a limited-edition Topshop tote bag, with further giveaways planned during the six-week residency. The Oxford Street store will also host weekly DJ sessions every Thursday evening from 13 November, bringing live music and festive energy to the shop floor.

Michelle Wilson, Managing Director of Topshop, said: "We’ve seen an incredible response to Topshop’s return, and we know our customers are excited to shop the brand in person again.

"By taking our Winter and Party collections beyond London, the Topshop pop-ups bring our signature energy and style to locations across the UK, just in time for the festive season."

Rachel Morgans, Director of Fashion at John Lewis, added: "John Lewis is the home of Christmas, which is when our customers are looking for those key seasonal must-haves.

"We’ve been listening to how excited they are for Topshop’s return, so as their sole nationwide partner, this felt like the perfect moment for a ‘teaser’ pop-up. It’s an exciting glimpse of what’s to come next year."

The early pop-ups set the stage for Topshop and Topman’s full-scale relaunch in 32 John Lewis stores (with Topman appearing in six), beginning in February 2026. The partnership follows a joint venture between ASOS and Heartland A/S, the investment company of Bestseller owner and ASOS shareholder Anders Holch Povlsen, announced last September.

In recent months, the rejuvenated Topshop has relaunched its dedicated website, staged a catwalk show in Trafalgar Square, and unveiled a partnership with Liberty, marking a confident return to the fashion spotlight.

For John Lewis, the collaboration comes amid a renewed push to strengthen its fashion credentials under Managing Director Peter Ruis, who has pledged to bring 100 new brands into its portfolio.

Topshop’s surprise early return is set to reignite excitement on the high street and capture the crucial festive footfall ahead of its national rollout in 2026.
