Topshop finds its London home again, this time at Liberty
Topshop has named Liberty London as its first UK wholesale partner, marking the brand’s highly anticipated return to physical retail in the UK.
Launching on 28 August, Topshop and Topman will take over Liberty’s central atrium with an exclusive in-store residency - just moments away from the former Oxford Street flagship that defined the brand’s heyday.
Michelle Wilson, Managing Director of Topshop and Topman, said: "Through Topshop and Topman, we want to bring the best of fashion to everyone.
"We’re thrilled to return to UK stores through Liberty — a brand that shares our passion for creativity, nurturing talent and pushing boundaries. This launch is about reconnecting with our community in real life, and we’re excited to kick things off with a full Liberty atrium takeover."
Lydia King, Liberty’s Group Buying & Merchandising Director, added: "At Liberty, we’ve always been about discovery — curating the most exciting talent and ideas under one roof.
"Partnering with Topshop and Topman brings a new layer to that experience: it’s a meeting point of two iconic British names, both with deep roots in London style, a stone’s throw from Oxford Street. This residency celebrates the city’s creativity and energy, offering our customers something unexpected. Which we love to do."
The collaboration is symbolic for London shoppers, many of whom still associate Topshop with its sprawling Oxford Street store that closed in 2020 following the collapse of Sir Philip Green’s Arcadia group. Its return via Liberty, a heritage retailer with strong cultural cachet, underlines both brands’ ambition to align with British fashion identity.
The move follows Topshop’s headline-making comeback show in Trafalgar Square last week, which relaunched its standalone website and unveiled a nostalgic autumn/winter 2025 collection. Wilson also confirmed at the show that Topshop will roll out semi-permanent high street stores later this year, with permanent standalone sites to follow in autumn.

Beyond Liberty, the brand is building a wholesale network across Europe, with McElhinneys in Ireland, Printemps in France and Zeb in Belgium already signed on.
Now under joint ownership between ASOS (25%) and Bestseller’s Heartland investment arm (75%), Topshop is aiming to re-establish itself as a cultural force while winning over a new generation of millennial and Gen Z shoppers. Its Liberty launch is not only a nod to nostalgia, but also a test for whether the brand’s physical retail comeback can match the hype.
