Topshop launches online in Ireland amid growing demand
Topshop.com has today launched in Ireland, following increasing demand for the brand in the market.
Last year, more than 50,000 Irish customers shopped the brand via ASOS, making Ireland one of the brand’s most engaged markets outside the UK.
ASOS noted that Irish customers shop more frequently and spend more per transaction, creating a key growth opportunity.
It also shared that customers were particularly interested in trousers, which accounted for four of the brand’s top 10 best-selling products.
This means that Topshop.com is now live across 24 EU countries.
To mark the launch, Topshop is also introducing a digital version of its iconic ‘Last Chance’ rail across all markets, allowing customers the opportunity to shop in-demand pieces before they sell out.
Michelle Wilson, Managing Director of Topshop and Topman, said: "Our Irish customers have a strong connection to Topshop, and we’re excited to bring them a dedicated brand destination with full access to our collections. The introduction of our ‘Last Chance’ edit also brings back a much-loved part of the Topshop experience reimagined for how our customers shop today."
Last week, it was reported that Topshop had drafted retail property advisory firm Vedra Group as it looks to expand its physical retail network. There have been suggestions that the brand is now looking to open a standalone store, perhaps even returning to its previous home on Oxford Street.
Topshop made its highly anticipated return to physical retail in the UK through a wholesale partnership with Liberty London in September last year.
Since then, it has also partnered with John Lewis, first with a series of pop-ups before expanding its presence on the UK high street by rolling out across 32 stores.
Today, ASOS also confirmed that it is exploring the possibility of a permanent physical retail presence, telling TheIndustry.fashion that it believes "physical retail can play a role in how we continue to meet customers where they are".
