Topologie heads to Soho for third London store

Rock climbing-inspired accessories brand Topologie has opened its latest London store at 79 Berwick Street in Soho.

It adds to its existing stores in the capital at 11 Dray Walk in Shoreditch and 13 Short’s Gardens in Covent Garden, as well as its first Paris flagship on rue du Temple and its first store in Amsterdam, which opened in November last year.

Founded in 2018 by French and Japanese rock climbing enthusiasts, Topologie has grown into something of a cult brand with its Wares System, which allows customers to mix and match over 100 interchangeable straps with a range of bags, phone cases and accessories “for everyday urban exploration”, offering more than 1,000 possible combinations.

Blending technical design with “Franco-Japanese fashion sensibility” and personalisation, the interchangeable straps are inspired by authentic climbing ropes and hardware, with bags and cases featuring carefully considered compartments.

Alongside its rapid retail growth, Topologie’s cultural footprint has been shaped through collaborations with the likes of A.P.C., Maison Kitsuné, Clarks, Ed Banger Records and, most recently, Pleasures.

The new store follows Topologie’s signature aesthetic, blending pegboards with scaffold-inspired metal structures to create a modular, adaptive environment. Rows of fully stocked under-counter storage “further amplify the sense of abundance and possibility, reinforcing the system’s limitless potential”.
