Tod's owners donate €5 million to support health workers families

Italian leather goods company Tod's owners, The Della Valle Family, have donated €5 million to support family members of health workers who have lost their lives in the fight against COVID-19.

The donation was made on behalf of the Della Valle Family and on behalf of their employees at Tod's, adding that health workers "selflessness and courage will forever be an example to all of us."

The administration of the fund will be entrusted to the Protezione Civile, who the brand thanked for for "their immense work it does every day in the fight against the virus."

The fund, called Sempre con Voi, is open to anyone wishing to contribute and can be accessed via an account opened by the Protezione Civile.

Tod's has numerous stores around the world, including large flagship stores in Europe, the U.S., China, Japan and Malaysia.

Tod’s Chairman Diego Della Valle said in February that the brand had made an “excellent” start to 2020 before the coronavirus hit sales, hoping that the situation could start to improve in the next few weeks.
