Tod’s launches new sustainability report, advancing key ESG pillars
Tod’s Group, the Italian footwear, apparel and accessories company behind the Tod’s brand - best known for its ‘made in Italy’ driving shoes - has published its 2024 Sustainability Report "highlighting its activities and achievements in ESG pillars".
The Tod’s ‘PACT’, an acronym for ‘People, Around us, Culture, and Territory’, stands for the group’s commitment to sustainability, and the report reveals the company’s commitment to quality, circularity, innovative materials and transparency.
That includes the Tod’s Digital Passport, which has been extended in 2025 to the brand’s iconic ‘Gommino’ loafer.
In the report, Tod’s reveals that energy, water consumption and greenhouse gas emissions have decreased, while investments in photovoltaic (five active plants) and certified renewable energy have increased, "covering the entire Italian perimeter", from 1 January 2025.
Diego Della Valle, President of the Tod’s Group, said: "These results testify our commitment to sustainability, aware of the role we have toward our territory, the communities and the environment we live in.
"The role of companies remains to create and redistribute value, which is not only economic and for the well being of our people, but also in a broader sense, in terms of responsibility and care for the environment around us. We are determined to continue this path, further strengthening our commitment for the benefit of the community and future generations."
Culture and territory are at the heart of Tod’s commitment, with 1% of net profit "dedicated to solidarity, art, and cultural enhancement". In 2024, the group supported the restoration of Palazzo Marino in Milan and the Italian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale. It also presented the ‘Italian Hands’ book at Milan Design Week 2025, celebrating Italian artisanal excellence.
People are described as "the core asset of the group", which has 5,267 employees, 46% of which are in Italy. The company provided over 98,300 hours of training in 2024, and invested in ‘Artisanal Intelligence’ through its ‘Bottega dei Mestieri’ (almost 300 internships since 2012).
Tod’s Group hugely supports the Italian supply chain, with 94% of suppliers and 90% of workshops being in Italy, 59% of which are in the Marche region.
