TikTok reveals biggest shopping trends driving growth in fashion

Celebrity fashion, comfy denim, and festival fits are among some of TikTok’s top trends, according to the platform’s latest Shopping Index.

With a 27% surge in orders at the start of the year, comfort-driven denim made a strong impact on TikTok Shop in the first half of 2025.

Brands like RELA RELA are capitalising on this trend with pieces that fuse practicality with style - most notably their viral Stretchy Soft Dad Fit Jeans, which have seen a sharp rise in popularity.

Celebrity fashion moments are also making noise, with Bad Bunny’s 'barely-there' Calvin Klein collaboration topping fashion search trends on TikTok - proving star power still drives major curiosity and clicks.

Meanwhile, the platform's "fashion girlies" crowned the 'barely-there sandal' - minimalist, strappy styles that elongate the leg and let your outfit do the talking - as "the shoe of the summer". Elsewhere in footwear, clear UGGs also trended among top searches.

Festival fashion saw major Y2K throwback energy, with butterfly tops, sheer fabrics, sequins, and boho-inspired looks gaining momentum. Plus, Coachella remained a key moment on the fashion calendar, helping set the tone for both the US and European summer festival seasons.

The data also revealed that fashion brands are increasingly leveraging daily LIVE sessions on TikTok Shop to simplify the shopping experience and help customers find their perfect fit. By showcasing models of diverse sizes and heights, these sessions promote body inclusivity and provide "a more personalised, relatable approach to online shopping".

Paul Mears, Head of Retail, Global Business Solutions at TikTok UK, said: "Today, we are excited to publish TikTok's Shopping Index, a report which not only reveals the products and brands that users have been shopping for, but the deeper values that are shaping today's shopping habits.

"Shopping in the UK has evolved significantly in recent years. Shoppable videos and LIVE shopping are reigniting personal connections and real-time interactions, once core to traditional in-store experience. TikTok is now where brands are discovered and grow, giving shoppers the ability to find and experience products in an entirely new way."

TikTok has become a crucial platform for brands to connect with customers and boost both engagement and sales.

In 2024, TikTok emerged as the fastest-growing online retailer, experiencing a 131% annual increase in shoppers on TikTok Shop and a 180% rise in revenue by the end of last year, according to research from Nielsen IQ.
