TheIndustry.fashion People, Planet & Purpose Awards: The Winners
Some of fashion's biggest names, along with innovative disruptor brands and pioneering individuals, were among the winners of TheIndustry.fashion's inaugural People, Planet & Purpose Awards, which were staged in London last night.
Inductees to the first Hall of Fame were high street giant Marks & Spencer, which was recognised for its trailblazing Plan A sustainable strategy that has been at the heart of its business for two decades. Stylist Bay Garnett who spearheaded the vintage fashion movement by bringing it into the mainstream media and tireless diversity campaigner Daniel Peters of The (Fashion Minority) Report were also named as Hall of Fame Members.
The Awards recognise brands driving positive change in the industry be that through sustainable and circular practice, giving platforms to diverse voices or supporting community and charitable causes. The night's biggest winner was footwear retailer schuh, which took away two awards for Diversity & Inclusion in Social Media & Marketing, for its One Shoe scheme, and for Community Initiative in recognition to its Future You programme.
Broadcaster and GMB news presenter Marverine Cole hosted the ceremony at Corinthia London, along with sustainable fashion activist and presenter Scott Wimsett, while a host of industry personalities took to the stage to present the awards.
Global logistics experts Bleckmann were the principal partner of the evening with sponsorship also coming from Accruent, Source Fashion and Studio 82.
