TheIndustry.fashion hit East London's Westfield Stratford today to witness how busy the complex was since yesterdays re-opening of non-essential retailers after the COVID-19 lockdown.
We found largely young crowds and families who were queuing outside footwear retailers, Zara and Primark. No one seemed fazed by the new safety procedures and many had continued to buy during lockdown.
Luxury stores were much quieter, with some choosing not to open at all, as shoppers opt to stock up on mostly low-value essential fashion items.
Retailers continue to run discounts and sales to pull in customers who aren't convinced or feel compelled to recommence shopping.
