Frasers, formally known as House of Fraser, originally founded in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1849 by Hugh Fraser and James Arthur, began as a drapery shop. Over the years, it evolved into a prestigious department store chain, offering a wide range of luxury products from fashion to homeware.

The brand became synonymous with high-quality goods and exceptional customer service. While facing challenges, including ownership changes, House of Fraser retained its status as a historic British retailer. Its legacy as a purveyor of fine fashion and lifestyle items continues to influence the UK retail landscape. In October 2023, Frasers Group CEO confirmed that over time all remaining House of Fraser stores would convert to Frasers or would close.
