The Shop at Bluebird celebrates its first birthday in Covent Garden

14 May 2019

Originally opened on the King's Road in 2006, luxury concept store the Shop at Bluebird is celebrating its 1st birthday at its new location of Carriage Hall in Covent Garden. The retailer, part of the Jigsaw group, said Carriage Hall embodied The Shop at Bluebird’s "curiosity of discovering niche brands, supporting British talent and houses a carefully selected mix of designers". Brands available across 15,000 sq ft of the historic coach house include Chloe, Temperley London, Isabel Marant, Rixo and Veja

The 19th century Grade II-listed building is characterised by a large, hidden courtyard with three galleried floors built around it. Light floods in through the glass ceiling, while the eclectic and whimsical décor and props has lead to The Shop at Bluebird becoming one of the most Instagrammed stores in London.

Claire Miles, Buying Director at The Shop at Bluebird, said: “We have had an eventful first year, welcoming a variety of new customers and brands into Carriage Hall. Since the opening launch event, we have hosted a number of memorable events including ‘Between Us’ which celebrated astounding African design, a Halloween party with one of our favourite brands Rixo London and our first FIGAF with William Ling and the Fashion Illustration Gallery. These events are so important as we establish ourselves in Covent Garden as a destination for creativity and culture in addition to fashion.”

To honour the 1st birthday, The Shop at Bluebird will be hosting four days of celebrations throughout the store with 15% off everything, along with London-based soft scoop Bears Ice Cream offering blueberry, lavender meringue swirl ice creams and Ohlala’s champagne flavoured macaroons, accompanied by a glass or two of Prosecco. Starting from Thursday 16 until Sunday 19 May at Carriage Hall.
