The Restory Co-founders confirm exit from business

Emily Rea, Co-founder of The Restory, an on-demand aftercare service for luxury fashion, took to LinkedIn to announce that the three Co-founders have stepped down from the business.

The company was founded in 2015 with the mission to enhance circular fashion and prolong the life of its customer’s favourite luxury shoes and handbags. As one of the first aftercare services on the market, it secured partnerships with Manolo Blank, Harrods, Selfridges, Harvey Nichols and other household names.

The Restory arguably paved the way for similar businesses to follow, ultimately pioneering circular fashion.

Rea wrote on social media: "I am sad to share that last week I, alongside my co-founders Vanessa and Thaís, resigned from The Restory. I am full of emotion but thankful for the incredible experiences, and the positive impact we had enabling repair, circularity and ultimately making fashion more sustainable.

"I am in awe of all the people I have met, worked and built relationships with. It has taken talent, passion and dedication and I have had the pleasure to experience that all first-hand. Thank you to our customers for trusting us with their items, our team and their immeasurable flair, our partners navigating the future of fashion with us and the media celebrating the aftercare industry."

In a joint statement from the three Founders, Emily, Vanessa and Thaís wrote: "Unfortunately, there have been recent changes that have led to us making the heart-wrenching decision to step away from the company in the last couple of weeks."

No further details have been disclosed regarding the exit.
