The Fashion Awards raises ‘milestone’ £1 million for BFC Foundation
The British Fashion Council (BFC) has announced that The Fashion Awards 2025 has raised £1 million for the BFC Foundation – an achievement described as “a milestone”.
It was made possible through the “exceptional generosity” of partners, donors and the wider fashion industry, and the funds raised will directly support the full breadth of the BFC Foundation’s work “to nurture and empower” the next generation of British design and creative talent, while expanding access to the industry.
Laura Weir, Chief Executive of the British Fashion Council, said: “This milestone reflects the industry’s unwavering commitment to supporting the next generation.
“The British Fashion Council hosts these awards each year for two reasons - to celebrate the global impact and creativity of the British fashion industry and to support the talent fuelling its future.
“The money raised will go to the BFC Foundation, a critical engine for talent development, ensuring British fashion remains globally competitive, culturally influential and economically vital.”
David Pemsel, Chair of the British Fashion Council, added: “Raising more than £1 million for the BFC Foundation is an extraordinary moment for British fashion and, in a challenging market, it means more than ever.
“It is demonstrative of a shared commitment to protecting creativity and investing in the next generation of British talent and we are deeply grateful to our industry partners and the British Fashion Council team.”
The BFC Foundation continues to deliver vital support to British design talent through financial scholarships, student initiatives, designer development programmes and international showcasing opportunities, “reinforcing the UK’s position as a global leader in fashion and the wider creative industries”.
The money was raised through a combination of donations, ticket and table sales and brand partnerships.
Pandora and all BFC partners, including eBay and The Peninsula London, as well as other ‘supporters’, make The Fashion Awards possible.
