The British Fashion Council (BFC) has announced that The Fashion Awards 2021 will take place at the iconic Royal Albert Hall in London on 29 November.

The awards will celebrate those who have made an important impact on the fashion industry in 2021, “following a momentous year of change and evolution”.

As well as including accolades such as Designer of the Year and the BFC Foundation Award, following on from last year’s digital format The Fashion Awards will also honour and celebrate Leaders of Change; the designers, brands, creatives and individuals who created positive change in the fashion industry in the past year, under five categories: ‘Environment’, ‘People’, ‘Community & Craftsmanship’, ‘Creativity’ and ‘Culture’.

Nominees, winners and honourees will be voted for by a panel made up of over 800 key members of the international fashion industry, with voting launching in September.

There will also be special recognition awards, such as the Outstanding Achievement Award, the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator and Fashion Icon.

New Wave: Creatives, a list that includes some of the most innovative and inspiring young creative talents from around the world, will also return for a fourth year. It has become a digital tool created to showcase the community, and it is now being widely used by the international industry as an active resource of the best global fashion talent outside of product design.

The Fashion Awards is a fundraiser for the BFC Foundation, the charity that brings all the BFC’s charitable initiatives under one umbrella, supporting the future growth and success of the British fashion industry by focusing on education, grant giving and business mentoring.

In 2020/21, the BFC raised £1.7million for the BFC Foundation and was able to support 33 designers and a number of students through financial support grants and mentoring.

General public tickets for The Fashion Awards 2021 will go on sale on 21 September via Ticketmaster, though American Express card members can access exclusive Amex presale tickets from 6 September.
