Tesco appoints new F&F clothing and home boss
Tesco has confirmed the appointment of Katja Ahola Klamkin as its new Managing Director for Home & Clothing.
Ahola Klamkin will replace Jan Marchant, who is retiring in March after more than two decades at the supermarket chain.
In internal colleague memo seen by TheIndustry.fashion, Tesco said: "Jan has made an incredible contribution to the business.
"She has led the team with product expertise and passion to offer Tesco customers the latest trends and styles that are stylish, affordable, accessible and wearable for everyday life."
Ahola Klamkin will join Tesco in the coming months, following almost 30 years at H&M Group. Having served as Managing Director for Lifestyle since January 2024, she has also worked as Sales Manager for North America, Country Manager for Italy, Head of Global Expansion, amongst many other roles.
"Katja has a strong all-round commercial and retail leadership profile across numerous leadership roles, disciplines and geographical locations within H&M Group. She brings with her a real wealth of experience and deep expertise across both Home & Clothing," the internal memo continued.
Last year, Tesco revealed a surge in demand for clothing and home products, helping to lift sales over the 26 weeks to 24 August. Total sales across the company grew by 4% to £31.5 billion.
