Temperley London founder Alice Temperley steps away from brand
Temperley London, the independent British fashion brand founded in 2000, has confirmed that its Founder and Creative Director Alice Temperley is stepping away from the company.
The brand said that Temperley leaves "with the backing of the team and house she has helped build," and that details on a new leadership team and a new Design Director will follow.
No successor has yet been confirmed, although further details on the appointment of the new leadership team and a new Design Director are to be announced "in due course," the company said.
Alice Temperley MBE commented on her departure: “I am enormously proud of everything I have built at Temperley London. It has been the creative home of my life for over two decades.
"The time is right for me to pursue a new direction, one that allows me to follow long-held passions, with the people I love, on things that feel completely true to who I am as a designer."
She added that after departing her namesake brand she will be focusing her attention on a "new creative practice, an independent venture that will collaborate closely with her creative network, her family and 22 muses who have shaped her vision over the years."
Details on her new venture are to be announced in due course.

Ownership context
The departure comes roughly two and a half years after Times Square Group LLC and its investment arm, Luxutte Capital, took a majority stake in the business in November 2023. At the time of that acquisition, the company said Alice Temperley and then-CEO Luca Donnini would remain in place as Creative Director and Chief Executive respectively.
"This alliance opens a door to new horizons, allowing the Temperley London collection to extend its reach into bags, shoes, ready-to-wear, accessories, and swimwear. I am incredibly excited about this new journey with Times Square Group and looking forward to spending even more time in UAE engaging with our loyal clients in the GCC and the wider region," Temperley commented on the partnership at the time.
Since March 2025 Sarita Jha, has taken over as Interim CEO for Temperley. However, the brand confirmed that her tenure in the role has now ended, with an announcement as to her replacement to be announced soon.
Brand background
In 2000, Alice Temperley MBE launched the label, one year after graduating from the Royal College of Art. She received an MBE in 2011 for services to the fashion industry. According to the brand's own website, she still heads up Temperley London’s creative direction, with the company operating from locations including Sloane Street in London, Ilminster in Somerset and Phoenix Studios.
The brand, which has been operating for over 25 years, describes itself as one of Britain’s most recognisable fashion houses, which has been defining an aesthetic of intricate craft, embellishment and bohemian elegance.
