Ted Baker has recruited former HMV Group Finance Director David Wolffe as the company's new interim Chief Financial Officer.

Wolffe started working at Ted Baker unannounced in January 2020, with the company only announcing his appointment this week. He joins from Genius Sports, where he was also their interim CFO.

He is also Founder and Chief Executive of backpack company Wolffepack.

Between 2011 and 2012, Wolffe was the Group Finance Director at HMV, where he was responsible for bank refinancing, investor relations, asset disposals, cash management and strategic supplier negotiation. He also previously was the Finance Director at ITV studios between 2008-2010.

Ted Baker announced earlier this week that it has conducted a review of its operational efficiency and business model after a “very challenging year”, which will result in 102 redundancies at its head office. The company also announced that it is looking to sell its North London headquarters to help fortify its balance sheet.

Ted Baker is also restructuring their leadership team, resulting in the departure of four executive board members. The new structure will decrease Ted Baker’s executive board from thirteen members to nine.

Wolffe will hold the role while its CFO Rachel Osborne, who joined from Debenhams last year, acts as the CEO on an interim basis. Osborne stepped up when former CEO Lindsay Page exited in December.
