Tapestry, the parent company of Kate Spade, Stuart Weitzman and Coach has appointed John Bilbrey to its board of directors.

The addition of Bilbrey to the Tapestry board means that the board now comprises of eight members.

Bilbrey previously worked as President and Chief Executive of food company Hershey from 2011 until his retirement in March 2017. Prior to joining Hershey, Bilbrey spent 22 years at Procter & Gamble.

Jide Zeitlin, Chairman and Chief Executive of Tapestry, said: “We are extremely pleased that John has agreed to join our board. He brings to our board deep consumer and operational experience along with broad global experience, having spent substantial time in Asia and the Middle East.

"John’s passion for the application of data analytics to understanding the consumer and influencing the supply chain will be invaluable assets to Tapestry.

As a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, Tapestry stores in Europe and North America have closed although the company’s stores in China have now re-opened.

In February, Tapestry announced a number of new appointments to its senior management team. The group said it had taken these steps “in order to enhance the companies ability to facilitate long term development” of its three fashion brands.
