British sportswear brand Sweaty Betty has closed its East London store on 3 Redchurch Street.

It still operates 23 own stores and concessions in London as well as 39 own stores and concessions across the rest of the UK. It also operates concessions in the US and Canada, as well as Ireland, Germany, Singapore and Hong Kong.

The retailer opened the Shoreditch store in the Summer of 2014, originally signing a 10-year lease.

Wolverine Worldwide, which operates one of the world’s largest portfolios of footwear and lifestyle brands, acquired Sweaty Betty in August 2021 from private equity firm L Catterton for approximately £326 million.

Founded in London in 1998, Sweaty Betty has grown to become a global brand “designed by women for women”. It has cultivated a loyal following through its purpose-driven mission and high quality products, including a wide array of innovative and on-trend tops, bottoms, swimwear, outerwear, and accessories.
