Sustainable activewear brand TALA has raised £4.2 million in funding, co-led by Active Partners and Venrex to support the brand's growth.

Founded by fitness entrepreneur and influencer Grace Beverley in 2019, TALA's mission is to create sustainable and high-performance activewear, without the hefty price tag. With a focus on ethics, sustainability and transparency, TALA's products and packaging are made with upcycled, recycled and natural materials.

The £4.2 million investment will be used by TALA to develop inventory, hiring new staff and pursing international growth.

Other investors include venture capital trust Pembroke, Deciem CEO and Founder Nicola Kilner, Peanut CEO and Founder Michelle Kennedy and Simon Mottram, founder of sportswear and lifestyle brand Rapha.

In an announcement on Instagram, Grace Beverley, said: "I could not be more excited to announce that @wearetala has raised £4.2 million to take our disruption of the activewear industry to the next level.

"It’s become increasingly clear to us that we have everything it takes to take on this industry. So, in August, after six weeks of pitching for ~10 hours a day and modelling our next three years to show where every penny of funding would go, we ended the round with six term sheets and a huge smile on my face."
