Superdrug is giving over 18,000 workers across the Superdrug and Savers businesses an additional day off to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee.

Superdrug and Savers stores will remain open to serve customers over the four-day weekend beginning 2 June 2022. Colleagues throughout the company's stores, distribution centres and head office will be able to take an additional day off to enjoy themselves throughout the celebratory period.

Peter Macnab, CEO at Superdrug, said: “As a proud British business, we are delighted to be able to give all UK colleagues an additional day off to mark such an incredible moment in British history. We have seen that our retail workers are some of the hardest working people in the country, particularly throughout the last two years. We hope that other forward thinking businesses will follow our lead and give their staff a well-deserved break to enjoy the celebrations this year.”

The news comes after Superdrug announced it would be freezing the prices of over one hundred everyday essential products to help customers with the current cost of living crisis.

Representing diverse sectors including retail, fashion, hospitality, culture, media, travel and business, 16 partners have come together to form a unique alliance in celebration of The Queen’s 70-year reign.
