Inditex-owned Stradivarius opened its first store in Wales over the Easter weekend, at the St David's shopping centre in Cardiff.

The brand, whose other UK stores are in London and Manchester, has opened a 5,200 sq ft store on the Upper Grand Arcade, opposite H&M.

Speaking on behalf of the St David’s Partnership (a joint venture between Landsec and intu which owns St David's) Colin Flinn, regional managing director - west, said of the opening: “The Stradivarius launch alongside the current strong fashion offering, cements St David’s as one of the leading retail locations within the UK and one which appeals to international brands wanting to expand."

A stablemate of brands such as Zara, Massimo Dutti, Pull & Bear and Bershka, Stradivarius was founded in 1994 and has stores in 60 countries globally. It made its UK debut in 2014 with a store at Westfield Stratford and went on to open its biggest store in the world on Oxford Street in 2016.

Its arrival at St David's is the latest in a series of new fashion store openings at the centre in the past 12 months including CK Underwear, Oliver Bonas and Lovisa. The centre was also chosen by Superdry to feature its first store with a dedicated Superdry Sport entrance, when the brand refurbished its existing store last autumn.
