Stella McCartney unveils bold Autumn 2021 Collection

Tom Shearsmith
09 February 2021

Stella McCartney has unveiled its most sustainable collection yet - announcing its Autumn 2021 which features up to 80% eco-friendly materials across clothing, footwear and accessories.

The collection is inspired by McCartney’s “A to Z Manifesto”, which the designer revealed last year, and acts as as a checklist for responsible behaviour by the brand. Focusing on “J, for Joy”, the collection has a sporty feel, with many colourful shapes and cozy layers.

The collection is brought to life by a bold use of colour across vibrant shades of pink, green, blue, red, orange and yellow, balanced with a neutral palette of khaki, grey, navy, black and white.

TheIndustry.fashion has created a gallery with the full collection imagery to view:

Focal items include vegan and cruelty-free bags, including an oversized Maxi take on the brands Falabella and Frayme. Stella McCartney also revisits its Logo bag in fresh materials and colourways alongside a Hobo tote in a compact, rounded edition.

In ready to wear, multicoloured skiwear-inspired silhouettes include wide shoulders and narrow waists. This vibrancy is elaborated on by bodycon florals riffing on patterned 90s swimsuits and an updated Stella graphic across oversized coats and matching jacquard fleece sets.

Eco-friendly materials used in the collection include recycled polyester and elastane, organic cotton and linen, forest-friendly viscose, responsible and traceable wool, ECONYL regenerated nylon, solvent-free PU, Alter Mat, Alter Teddy, Koba Fur Free Fur, aluminium and stainless steel chains with PVD coatings, sustainable beech wood and repurposed old-stock fabrics, pushing towards circularity.
