International auction house Sotherby’s has partnered up with Highsnobiety to launch a limited-edition streetwear collection, as part of the companies pop up concept with Selfridges.

The exclusive line has been created by Highsnobiety and is in store until February the 9th at their pop-up, Co.Lab, at Selfridges Corner Shop in London. Orders online can be made until from January 29. Items retail at prices ranging from 65 euros for T-shirts to 125 euros for hoodies.

The Highsnobiety and Selfridges pop-up is the very first partnership between a leading luxury department store and  media outlet. A series of drops will take place during the residency with brands such as Prada, Maison Margiela and Alyx by Matthew Williams, but the first will be a collection of limited edition Highsnobiety merchandise created in support of the release of Colette, Mon Amour, a documentary that explores the last days of the closure of the cult Parisian boutique Colette.

Sotherby’s ‘Old Masters’ exclusive streetwear collection will feature hoodies, T-shirts and sweatshirts all including details from Sotherby’s Masters Week auctions in New York, merging great works from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries to contemporary design.

The collections intends to pay homage to pre-Modern-era artworks to new buyers. The streetwear range will feature works from the likes of Dutch artist Matthias Withoos’ Still Life with Butterflies and Lizards, Netherlandish School section of a skeleton wrapped in flowing white fabric, Charity from the Prague School, and Ginevra Cantolofi’s A Sea-Nymph.

Highsnobiety chief executive and founder, David Fischer, said “Sotheby's has been uniting collectors with the most remarkable and famous works of art in history. We hope that through this partnership, we are able to introduce a new type of collector to Sotheby's, and share the exclusive Old Master Paintings collection with people who never dreamed of owning this art. Furthermore we at Highsnobiety always seek out to align our brand with the most iconic and best in every field, while surprising our audience with partnerships and collaborations that they would not expect every day. In that regard, Sotheby’s is a perfect fit and a brand that we are extremely proud to be working with.”
