Sockshop has announced the launch of its first 100% recycled socks with its new brand, Tore, an abbreviation of "totally recycled".

Tore is the world's first fully recycled sock range that aims to tackle textile wastage and water consumption. Described by Sockshop, the range is eco-friendly and "provides quality, comfort, durability, fit and hypoallergenic properties."

Founded in 1983 by Sophie Mirman and Richard P. Ross, Sockshop now stocks in over 240 counties. The brand provides a large range of sock drawer staples, fashion styles and specialised socks. Along with a range of tights, underwear and accessories.

The range was designed with the aim of making small changes to create a better world. One pack of Tore socks saves two years of drinking water and 2.4 plastic water bottles and 0.6 t-shirts from landfill.

Amit Ruia, Managing Director of Sockshop, said: “We are thrilled to be launching our first totally sustainable, totally recycled sock. When we started our sock company 25 years ago, one of our core philosophies was to protect and nurture the environment and we hope Tore embodies this movement.

"Every single element of our Tore socks are made from recycled fibres, including recycled cotton and polyester from discarded water bottles. We hope to make small changes to create a better world.”
