Social commerce app Agora launches in UK

Social commerce app Agora has launched its marketplace platform in the UK, powered by marketplace SaaS platform Mirakl. The app hopes to provide a social and live-shopping platform dedicated to beauty and wellness.

Inspired by the rise of social and live shopping commerce in Asia, Agora emphasises its aim to be the UK’s next-generation beauty commerce app.

The marketplace has launched with more than 100 sellers, 700 brands and 16,000 products. Along with 360,000 registered users and over 5,000 content creators, to help connect beauty brands, content creators and consumers through live-stream events and tutorials.

The app also aims to offer a space to reach new audiences via an existing peer-to-peer sales channel. It allows users to directly shop from the selection of curated products demoed on the platform.

Riccardo Basile, Co-founder and CEO of Agora, said: “We are at the forefront of bringing live shopping to Europe and with that a new form of monetisation for content creators.

Mirakl is a ecommerce software company, which creates marketplace platforms for brands including Urban Outfitters, Feelunique and Joules.
