SKIMS and Roberto Cavalli team up on retro swimwear collection
In a high-octane fusion of Italian luxury and American bodywear, Roberto Cavalli and SKIMS have unveiled a limited-edition, tiger-print-infused swimwear collection.
Officially launching on 27 June, the Roberto Cavalli and SKIMS collaboration blends archival Cavalli prints with SKIMS’ signature silhouettes, created in the spirit of 'Euro Summer'.
Kim Kardashian, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of SKIMS, said: "Unveiling such a luxurious collection with Roberto Cavalli is incredibly exciting.
"I’ve always admired the brand’s exotic prints and bold energy, and bringing that vision to life through SKIMS Swim allowed us to create something truly unexpected and elevated. We paired Cavalli’s most iconic prints with our signature swim silhouettes to deliver a sexy collection that empowers every body to own swim season, no matter where they vacation."
Crafted from SKIMS' supportive fabrics and available in sizes XXS to 4X, the collection includes swimwear, chiffon cover-ups and accessories. Pieces from the collection have been crafted in three archival Cavalli prints: Fagianella, Light Zebra, and Tiger Face.
Visualised through the lens of photographer and director Nadia Lee Cohen, the campaign is a cheeky retro fantasy starring Kim Kardashian and her mother, Kris Jenner. The imagery balances glamour and tongue-in-cheek storytelling that taps into a Tiger King fantasy.
Fausto Puglisi, Creative Director of Roberto Cavalli, added: "We’re thrilled to introduce the Roberto Cavalli and SKIMS collection to the world.
"Collaborating with SKIMS on this glamorous, bold collection of swimwear has been a remarkable experience. To me, Kim is a modern Marilyn Monroe, she is the pop icon, she inspires me so much. Our brands are iconic in their own distinct ways, and we’ve meticulously blended archival prints with modern, functional design to create a collection that embodies the essence of Italian luxury."
This isn’t the first time SKIMS has teamed up with luxury fashion brands, tapping into the zeitgeist. Last year, it collaborated with Dolce & Gabbana as well as The North Face.
The Cavalli release follows last week's news that SKIMS' highly anticipated collaboration with Nike has hit a delay, with the first NikeSkims collection now expected to launch later this year instead of spring 2025, as originally announced.
SKIMS is also set to launch a highly anticipated collaboration with Nike. However, last week, it was revealed that production has hit a delay. The first NikeSkims collection is now expected to launch later this year instead of spring 2025, as originally announced.
The new brand, a fusion of Nike’s technical performance expertise and SKIMS’ sculpting design ethos, was unveiled in February with the aim "to disrupt the global fitness and activewear industry".
The Roberto Cavalli SKIMS collection will be available online at SKIMS.com, at select Roberto Cavalli boutiques.
