size? pivots to digital first with special SS21 online showcase via app

15 January 2021

Live from tomorrow, 16 January, sneaker specialist retailer size? is launching a preview of 15 limited edition collaborations with Nike, adidas Originals, New Balance and Reebok exclusively on the "size?launches" app as it continues to weather the forced store closures due to COVID-19.

Pivoting to be a digital first retailer, size? is well equipped to immerse users in an interactive experience – introducing never seen before collaborative products – having successfully navigated its 20th anniversary in 2020, with some much sought-after drops throughout the year despite the pandemic.

Indeed the regenerated "size?launches" app follows on from size?’s 20th anniversary celebration, and sees the brand continue to expand the digital side of its business, endeavouring to share the preview experience with as many people as possible.

Adapting in the current climate, the app has evolved from an online raffle system for special releases to an editorial platform and standout trainer source.

Within the latest experience, "size?launches" will be raffling highly sought-after legacy collaborations from their archive, with all proceeds donated to Manchester MIND. With more features available upon download.

Tom Thurley, Retail Marketing Manager of size?, said: “Our exclusive collaborations will be launching across the first half of 2021, and all specific launch dates will be communicated via our size? app. Saturday 16 January, 2021, will act as our official preview of what’s to come.

“We’re unable to state specifics on the amount of stock for each release just yet, however as with all of our brand partnerships stock will be limited and available on a first come first served basis.

“All of our collaborative product is designed in collaboration between size? and the respective brands design teams.”

Commenting on how the special 20th anniversary sneaker releases were received by size? customers, Thurley added: “The 20th anniversary releases performed very well. There were some standout designs, such as the size? x Nike Air Force 1 ‘Manchester Bee’, the size? x Nike Air Max 95 ’20 for 20’ and the size? x adidas Originals Liverpool ‘Anniversary City Series’. All in all we were really happy with how our 20th anniversary SMUs performed and the response from our community.”
