Arcadia owner Sir Philip Green has been charged with four counts of misdemeanour assault in the US.

Sir Philip is accused by a Pilates teacher who said the retail tycoon repeatedly touched her inappropriately.

The Press Association reports that Pima County Attorney's Office has confirmed that he has been charged with four counts of knowingly touching another person with the intent to injure, insult, or provoke.

Each count has a potential sentence of up to 30 days in the Pima County jail, a fine of not more than $500, and up to one year of probation. Sir Philip has previously denied the allegations which reportedly occurred at the Canyon Ranch resort in Tucson in 2016 and 2018.

The news breaks just hours after The Pensions Regulator demanded that he top up the Arcadia pension fund by £50m ahead of a crucial CVA vote for Arcadia next week.
