Silvia Onofri tasked to keep up Miu Miu's momentum as its new CEO
The Prada Group has today confirmed the appointment of Silvia Onofri as the Chief Executive Officer of Miu Miu, effective 26 February.
Onofri succeeds Benedetta Petruzzo, who exited the Prada Group to join Christian Dior Couture as Managing Director in October 2024.
Prior to her new appointment, Onofri joined outerwear label Napapijri in early 2023 as CEO, while VF Corp. was in the midst of an organisational overhaul. During her time at Napapijrishe repositioned the brand alongside its Creative Director Christopher Raeburn, the British designer renowned for his upcycling creations.
Before her two-year stint at Napapijri, Onofri had been at Bally since 2008, where she rose through the ranks. She began her time at Bally as Global Travel Retail Trade Marketing Manager and was named the brand's CEO for the EMEA region in July 2018.
Launched in 1993 by Italian designer Miuccia Prada, Miu Miu is the playful and avant-garde sister brand to Prada. Named after Miuccia's nickname, it offers a youthful and unconventional take on luxury fashion.
In recent years, the brand has had a renaissance, gaining acclaim for its ballet flats and rebellious biker boots. This appointment comes as Miu Miu continues to report impressive growth. For the third quarter, ending 30 September, the luxury brand's revenues skyrocketed by 97%. The label accounted for 25% of its Prada Group's sales.
Lyst also confirmed Miu Miu has that 'it' factor, naming it the most sought-after brand for Q4 of 2023. In her new role, Onofri is tasked to keep up Miu Miu's momentum.
