In announcement this weekend, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has made face masks mandatory in all shops in England.

Effective from 30 November at 4am, temporary and precautionary measures have been put in place to help prevent the spread of the new COVID-19 Omicron variant.

Face coverings will be compulsory in shops and other settings such as banks, post offices and hairdressers, as well as on public transport unless individuals are exempt.

The British Retail Consortium (BRC) has urged shoppers to “respect the rules and be considerate to their fellow shoppers and to hard-working shop staff."

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has also announced that visitors from all countries will have to self-isolate until they get a negative PCR test result.
