London landlord Shaftesbury has launched its latest edition of its tenant-supporting Carnaby & Soho Magazine as digital-only for the first time due to the coronavirus crisis – with the lockdown forcing temporary closures of stores in its West End portfolio.

Issue 7 of the magazine was created prior to lockdown. It usually has a print run of 20,000 distributed through fashion and lifestyle stores – both independents and household names - restaurants and cafés in the Carnaby and Soho areas.

Many of the shops in the area are still trading online, and some of the restaurants are carrying out deliveries through these difficult times.

Shaftesbury hopes the magazine – available to read free at Carnaby.co.uk/Magazine and ThisIsSoho.co.uk/Magazine – will help to support those businesses and give something for people to look forward to when the lockdown ends.

Samantha Bain-Mollison, head of retail at Shaftesbury, says: “We are supporting our tenants in every way we can during this time and felt that going ahead with the launch of Issue 7 of the Carnaby & Soho Magazine reflects now more than ever how important it is to stay connected and celebrate the tenant contributions towards the latest issue.

“We are proud to see how so many of our tenants have adapted their businesses by offering new and exciting initiatives, especially those supporting the NHS and continuing to develop their charity and community efforts. We look forward to welcoming visitors back when London reopens its doors.”

Celebrating the best shopping and dining in Carnaby and Soho, features in the new issue include the 20thanniversary of sneaker emporium size?. Brand Manager, Luke Matthews shares details on their latest collaborative projects and what he thinks makes the Carnaby Street store so special.

In an exclusive interview with Ganni’s creative director, Ditte Reffstrup, he uncovers the DNA of the Scandinavian label and why opening a store in London was his dream come true. There’s also the latest in sustainable fashion from brands including RAEBURN, Diesel and Sandqvist, and a spotlight on Carnaby’s Newburgh Quarter.
