Selfridges Bullring unveils new Shoe Galleries

Selfridges has unveiled its second Shoe Galleries concept at its Bullring Birmingham store.

The 15,000 sq ft space is located on level four of the department store and follows in the footsteps of the unveiling of the original Shoe Galleries concept at its flagship store on London's Oxford Street.

Stocking more than 1,700 different styles the Shoe Galleries encompasses luxury brands such as Valentino, Balenciaga and Stella McCartney as well as new ranges from brands including Magda Butrym, Coach, Mallet, Alberta Ferretti, Gina, Malone Souliers and Marco de Vincenzo. It will also sell the Jenny Packham X LK Bennett bridal collection in time for the wedding season.

Gucci, Jimmy Choo and Christian Louboutin have their own designated areas within the space, complementing the up-market offer also provided by Tiffany & Co and Louis Vuitton, which opened on level four late last year.

“We are very excited to launch Shoe Galleries and are confident it will quickly become the premium shoe shopping destination in the city, serving the entire West Midlands region. We are also really pleased this innovative space gives us the opportunity to introduce many new brands to our customers," said Selfridges Birmingham general manager Sam Watts.

The arrival of the new Shoe Galleries is the latest in a line of high-end openings at Bullring, part of The Bullring Estate, which also covers Link Street and Grand Central. Last year premium US brand Coach opened at the centre along with UK footwear retailer Russell & Bromley.

Iain Mitchell, commercial director at Bullring owner Hammerson, commented: “The Shoe Galleries concept is an excellent addition to an already hugely popular range of departments available at Selfridges, Birmingham. The additional mix of global luxury brands further elevates the Bullring to one of the largest retailers to stock high-end fashion and accessories outside of London.  This opening reinforces the Bullring Estate’s position as one of the leading UK retail and leisure destinations for luxury brands”.
