Sefton Fashion presents Pop Trading Company's Van Gogh collection

Marking its return to Sefton Fashion for Spring/Summer 2020, Amsterdam's cult brand Pop Trading Company has aimed to reframe the legendary works of Vincent Van Gogh, across its signature apparel lines.

The brand repurposes some of Van Gogh's most famous pieces of artwork including "Sunflowers" and "Skull of a Skeleton with Burning Cigarette", incorporating the art into simplistic t-shirts and shirts.

Founded in 2013 by Peter Kolks and Ric van Rest in Amsterdam, the pair originally opened their own store with an aim to open up skate to a wider audience and quickly became the heart of the Amsterdam skate community. After consulting for brands like Nike, Converse and Parra, Pop Trading Company evolved to create their own brand clothing, reflecting the skate aesthetic and blending it with influences from high-end menswear and classic 90’s streetwear.

Pop Trading Company said: "To kickstart the season, Pop have looked to the notorious impressionist painter Vincent Van Gogh. Featuring paintings that call Amsterdam their home, just like Pop themselves."

To celebrate the launch of the collection, Pop Trading Company shot a photo series with photographer, Freddie Stisted.

The full drop, which is available now, also features additional SS20 garments from Pop Trading Company such as a bold red corduroy zip jacket.
