Seasalt partners with Reskinned for pre-loved exchange scheme

Cornish clothing brand Seasalt has partnered with Reskinned, the sustainable pre-loved clothing repair and resale specialist, to launch a pre-loved clothing scheme.

The partnership will enable customers to return pre-loved clothing to be rehomed or recycled, receiving a Seasalt voucher in return. The scheme aims to maximise the life of Seasalt garments and reduce clothing waste. Seasalt will start re-selling the pre-loved clothing via Reskinned later this year.

Reskinned currently works with brands including Sweaty Betty and Joules. The platform helps shoppers make choices that are good for the planet and make "shopping pre-loved clothing as enjoyable and easy as buying new".

The Reskinned partnership forms another part of the fashion company's efforts to work towards better sustainable practices. The retailer is committed to increasing the use of certified sustainable materials and is working towards becoming carbon net zero by 2040.

Paul Hayes, CEO at Seasalt, commented: "We’re working hard to reduce our impact on the environment, so we are delighted to announce this partnership with Reskinned who are leaders in the circular fashion economy.

"We are big believers in supporting positive change and this partnership is another step forward to Seasalt reaching its sustainability goals – I’m very much looking forward to seeing a successful partnership and how far it can grow in the years ahead."

Matt Hanrahan, Co-Founder of Reskinned, added: "At Reskinned it’s our mission to maximise the lifespan of clothing. We’re making it easy for brands and their customers to rehome unwanted clothes, whether that’s reselling, repairing or if it’s end-of-life recycling it responsibly. We’re determined to create a more sustainable clothing future for us all."

This news follows Seasalt's impressive financial results for the five weeks to 31 December 2022, which revealed a 15% increase in sales across Christmas.
